This month on the AE Player Insider’s Game Guide, we are going to take a closer look at a cartoon icon – Betty Boop. This big hit from Bally is one of the most dynamic games in the Illinois video gaming market. Players can tag along with Betty and her personal pooch Pudgy on a shopping trip down Fifth Avenue – and each shop along the way presents a new way for you to win big!
The art style in Betty Boop’s 5th Avenue is whimsical, fun and instantly recognizable for fans of the original 1930’s comic strip. With bright colors and art deco influences, fans of Betty Boop will feel right at home in this slot game. Betty Boop’s 5th Avenue has five reels and 30 possible pay lines read from left to right (except scatter pays). Symbols include a blue Wild square, a pink gift, a gold wallet, a green gift bag, a cappuccino, and classic symbols representing ace, king, queen, jack, and the number 10. There is also a golden 5th Ave. symbol, a wheel spin symbol and a Wild symbol with Pudgy the puppy on it.
Pudgy’s Random Wilds Feature
At the start of every base game spin (not a 5th Avenue Bonus spin), there is a random chance for Pudgy’s Random Wilds Feature to begin. If the Pudgy’s Random Wilds Feature is activated, there will be anywhere from three to 10 wild symbols (with Pudgy) placed on the second and fifth reels. These random wilds allow more chances for a winning pay line since the Wild Pudgy can be substituted for all available symbols (except the 5th Avenue symbol).
Pudgy’s Wild Reels Feature
At the start of every base game spin (not a 5th Avenue Bonus spin), there is a random chance for Pudgy’s Wild Reels Feature to begin. If the Pudgy’s Wild Reels Feature is activated, two to four Wild Reels will be awarded on the second and fifth reels. These random wilds allow for more chances for a winning pay line since the Wild Pudgy can be substituted for all available symbols (except the 5th Avenue symbol).
Wheel Spin Feature
If a player gets three or more scattered wheel spin symbols on the second, third or fourth reels, the Wheel Spin Feature will begin. The player will be allowed one spin of the wheel and has the chance to win different credit amounts. They also have the chance to win the Betty, Pudgy and Ritzy Jackpots, which are $250, $100 and $25, respectively.
5th Avenue Bonus Feature
If a player gets three or more scattered 5th Ave. symbols on the first, third and fifth reels, the 5th Avenue Bonus Feature will begin with a pick feature. The player will be presented with the choice of six identical hanging cards to choose from. Depending on what store is revealed, a new bonus feature will begin and the 5th Avenue Bonus Feature will end.
Sweets N Treats Confections
This is a classic pick bonus feature. The player will be presented with six different trays of treats to pick from: Cookies, Doughnuts, Cupcakes, Truffles, Fruit Tarts or Cake Slices. The player will then select an item on the tray, and their prize will be revealed: “2x Total Win,” a bonus credit amount or an additional pick with “Next Tray.” As you progress through the trays of treats, the total credits awarded will multiply from 10x up to 500x the number of credits bet!
Jewelry Emporium
At the beginning of the Jewelry Emporium bonus feature, the player is presented with a choice of “For Him” or “For Her.” This choice is made for aesthetic purposes only and has no impact on the outcome. The player will then be presented with 20 available jewelry boxes and allowed to choose nine. When the insides of the boxes are revealed, depending on how many of the picks match, the player will be awarded an increase in their bet!
Accessory Bazaar
At the beginning of the Accessory Bazaar bonus feature, the player is presented with a choice of “For Him” or “For Her.” This choice is made for aesthetic purposes only and has no impact on the outcome. The player will then be presented with 27 identical gift boxes and instructed to continue picking boxes until three matching accessories are revealed. Depending on what accessory the player matches, a reward from 8x to 40x the total credits bet will be awarded.
Boopie’s Boutique
At the beginning of the Boopie’s Boutique bonus feature, players will receive 2x their total credits bet and presented with a choice of six possible dresses. Each dress will randomly award the player eight, 10, 12 or 15 Hot Spins. During the Hot Spins feature, a Boopie’s Boutique Wild Stack will be in play on the second, third and fourth reels.
The Haberdashery
At the beginning of The Haberdashery bonus feature, the player will be presented with a choice of “For Him” or “For Her.” This choice is made for aesthetic purposes only and has no impact on the outcome. Once the option is picked, 10 Hot Spins will be awarded and new symbols will be in play for pay lines. These include a purple hat, a blue hat, a yellow hat, a green hat and fountain symbols. During the Haberdashery bonus feature, any fountain symbols will become locking wilds. The pink fountain symbol will also double the winnings for the winning pay line.
Pudgy’s Pet Shoppe
At the beginning of Pudgy’s Pet Shoppe bonus feature, 12 Hot Spins will be awarded, in addition to 2x the total credits bet. New symbols will be added to the reels, including a doghouse, a dog bowl, a fire hydrant, a leash and a collar tag. During the bonus feature, each collar tag appearing on the reels will pay the active bonus displayed on the reward Pet Shoppe Ladder.
